Keys to running a successful vacation rental
Organic Housekeepers cleans more than 100 vacation rentals, including homes run by international luxury vacation clubs. Our experience has taught us that there are several steps owners can take to make their vacation rental more profitable.
Use owner's closet: Have closets, drawers, furniture and cabinets free of items. Keep your soaps, clothes, etc in a locked owners closet.
Eliminate clutter: Limit the amount of nick-knacks on shelves. The house is easier to clean, and there are less items to break or go missing.
Streamline access: Have a fail-safe way for the renters to access the property. If you have electronic locks, hide a key or use a manual lock box for a back-up. Leaving Organic Housekeepers’ with a spare key is another good option.
Use white linens: Stock white sheets and towels. White linens are easier to spot clean, and it’s easier for our cleaners to see hairs. Renters also appreciate consistency in sheets like they would find in a hotel. Organic Housekeepers requires vacation rentals to have two sets of sheets for quicker departure cleans.
Confirm cleanings: Always get confirmation on your cleanings. We confirm our scheduled cleanings one week before, but if you don’t receive one, call us to make sure it’s on the books. As a guest, there is nothing worse than showing up to a dirty house.
Schedule deep cleans: Schedule two deep cleans a year in the spring and fall. Deep cleans reset your home at its peak of cleanliness, making the season’s departure, daily and mid-stay cleans more efficient.
Deep clean linens: Deep clean comforters, shams and blankets twice a year as part of your deep clean. It will keep your linens looking fresher and newer.
